longest days past and now the nights are drawing in again! Its not all bad news we've kept the light shinning again this week.Tuesday,Wed and Thursday canceled due to the wind yet again went diving on Monday weather was rough but quite an interesting old wreck,An old barge I think ,saw a few pouting and bass and a few lobsters and managed to retrieve a recently lost anchor[not mine].vis was quite good about four meters [so keep those feathers handy].Fridays party couldn't make it due to the fact they were in Ireland still finishing a job so took out some of Thursdays .Best Tope to Taffy 38lbs,lots of runs but very hard to connect lost another at the side of the boat [knots, not mine] we also caught about 20/30 bass on feathers ,lost count but everyone takes a few home as long as I can keep the mackerel and we did have a lot of mackerel .Also managed a couple of skate.Saturday bit of confusion on booking so rallied up a party. We started with the bass again around 30 were caught and everyone had their share,Then tried on the East Burrow head for some skate but it was a bit slow on that front we had one on the previous mark but only found a couple of dog fish and hounds on the head.I was a bit apprehensive about my next move 60ft deep and ebb tide ,didn't know if we could cope but we did and in all honesty the fish seemed twice as big in the tide. This was a hound mark and in the short time we were there we had ten to 12lbs.This was encouraging since we have not specifically targeted them .Sunday Tope trip ,early start .I had decided that with the mackerel now showing it was worth a try.Well no not really we had Four tope to 24lbs which was a bit disappointing the good side was the bass Its a PB for Paul Coppin 13lbs 8oz .and two Pb's for Chris miller one of 7.5lbs and one of 8lbs 6oz.we didn't stop there we visited a few marks and ended up with over 50 bass .most were returned as were Chris Millers .Paul tried to return the big one we held it in the tide on a line but on release it went belly up so we up anchored and picked it up.Shame about the tope but we aren't complaining ,try on the smaller tides next week cheers Dave Weaving
