Great Fishing on the Jenna-D

It make you wonder who is running this country sometimes; The democratic goverment we elected or the Brussels bureaucrats?

It is hard enough running a successful charter boat these days, what with rising fuel, but now the goverment have pushed up the duty on Diesel from 7.68p per litre to 54p per litre effective from oct 2008 under a EU directive,THIS WILL EFFECT EVERYONE THAT USES RED DIESEL please help our industry by campaiging against it and signing our electronic petition which we are going to send to the Goverment!  Click here to help us help you!

Fast and comfortable with plenty of space for up to twelve anglers, skippered by owner Dave  Weaving PBA, with over twenty years experience in the charter business.  The Jenna-D, Dave's charter fishing boat is brimming full of the latest in electronics to give you the best possible chance of some real fishing!

The Thames Estuary offers anglers a variety of fish, October sees the appearance of the whiting, followed by codling, November/December right through till the end of March/early April.  Most of our trips tend to be offshore but with the River Blackwater on our doorstep we can normally find shelter to fish whilst other ports have to cancel.  In April we start to pick up skate as they move inshore, with the milder waters we have seen these fish caught all year round.  Late May sees the appearance of tope.  The estuary is renowned for these hard fighting fish.  The large females come in to drop their pups.  June/July is the time that the ever popular smooth hound make an entrance, without doubt pound for pound this is one of the best fish for sport.  We actively participate in conservation and encourage anglers to return these magnificent creatures back safely to preserve our famous fishery for the coming years and beyond.  Also at this time of year is everyone's favorite fish the bass, these are great eating fish, although once again many hardened anglers are also returning these great fish and being selective in what they take to preserve the stocks and we actively encourage this.

Also found in the estuary are eels, dog fish, pouting and mackerel, not every ones favorite but a catch is a catch!  If strong winds do happen to stop us getting to the offshore marks don't be disappointed; the Blackwater Estuary is home to some of the best stingray in England.  The biggest shore caught specimen from our river last year was in excess of 60lbs and with a plentiful schools of bass we've nearly always got something to offer.

On board the Jenna-D the skipper is justly proud of his reputation of putting his anglers on the fish - specimen fish! As you can see by this amazing 25lbs 2oz Smooth Hound taken recently, have a glance in the gallery section to see more of the catches anglers have caught aboard the Jenna-D
